Afterreplacing several single filament bulbs on my car, at least once a year, give me the old type ones any day. Even top brand name bulbs don't seem to last longer. Over voltage and vibration are common culprit for shorter life, more common on motorcycles, cars fitted with the h4 as standard should be devoid of these problems.

H1 and H3 are used as headlights of your vehicle. Both lights almost give the same amount of light. Even the temperature of the lights can be the same. The bulbs are identical. But H3 uses 75 watts on the other hand the H1 bulbs use 60 watts. These are both halogen bulbs that are fitted into your vehicle. Ifyour car uses single filament bulbs you’ll quickly discover that you need two headlight bulbs in each side, as one will work the dipped beam and the other will work the main beam. Twin filament: If your car requires a H4 bulb, you are relying on a twin filament bulb for both your low and dipped beam. A twin filament is a single bulb with StepTwo: Select Your Bulb Type. Following step one, you might be presented with a pop-up that asks what type of bulb technology your vehicle came with from the factory. This might not appear for every vehicle. Your user manual will usually state whether your vehicle is Halogen, Xenon or Bi-Xenon. Thatlooks at the amount of power emitted as light compared to the amount of electrical power drawn. Halogen light bulbs have only 2% – 4% luminous efficiency. For many countries, the power of their headlamps is limited from a legal perspective. Usually in the 50W – 60W range. This rating is based on the amount of power the light draws. Youshould use a real H4 bulb in an H4 reflector. No LED or HID conversion works the same, because the light source is shaped differently from the H4 filament. IMHO the best headlight conversion, bar none, is the Cibie H4 E-code reflector and 80/100w H4 bulbs, in a relay wiring harness that runs the bulbs straight from the battery.

H1and H4 are different bulb types. An H4 has two filaments and is usually used as a Hi/low headlight and the H1 is a single filament and would typically be used as a high beam only. The difference is they are meant to be in different places on the car. The H4 is on the outside and the H1 on the inside in a typical 4 headlight setup.

To summarize, the H11 and 9005 bulbs are not the same. They vary primarily in base style, socket fitment, power output, and optimal use case.
Thisallows the bulb to serve as both the high beam and low beam headlights in one. With the lower filament on, the bulb acts as the low beam. With both on, the bulb is brighter and functions as a high beam headlight. Tip: The most common dual filament bulb used in headlights is the 9003 (HB2/H4) bulb.
