Ageof Empires II: Definitive Edition. Lobby Crashes. For the last few weeks we had this problem when we wanted to start a round. The Host creates a lobby and puts it on private. We do not play ranked, we only play skirmish against the AI ( 3 or 4 people against the AI on shifting difficulties and AI's) After the lobby is created it's AOEII Definitive Edition is still considered “downloaded” by the store (cf. screenshot) but when I click on “Install”, nothing happens and no matter how many times I try. So I am just stuck with a game that is not considered installed by Windows 10 and that I cannot install via the Microsoft Store. Isanyone else having AoE2 DE crash their PC lately? Ihave attempted over 10 experiments using my native screen 1440p ultra wide at 120 fps and 100 and 85 and the crash always begins around the 30 minute or 20 minute mark of which is likely a command within the game of time that causes the crash.

Hiall, I’ve been struggling to get Age of Empires II Definitive Edition to work smoothly on Steam with my GeForce GT1030 graphics card. I’ve tried various command line arguments with Proton Experimental including prime-run, PROTON_USE_WINED3D11 and so on to no avail. Itwill also tell you how much virtual memory AOE2:DE was consuming at the time of crash. In my case with UHD enabled, the game was consuming 11.5GB virtual memory. This is on a system with 16GB RAM. Not all crashes will be due to lack of memory, so looking at event viewer is useful to rule that out at least. O9mrU3.
